I am utterly fascinated by all things pregnancy and birth related. I cannot fathom how every human being doesn’t marvel at the miracle of birth. I was privileged to attend medical school for 2 years and have a degree in medical illustration.
I am a Christian, married nearly 30 years to my high school sweetheart, and have been blessed to have given birth vaginally 8 times, with 5 delightful daughters and 3 spunky sons. I have 2 identical twin granddaughters, so far.

view at the end is incredible."
My childbearing years spanned birthing only twice in my 20s, three times in my 30s and three times in my 40s so I know about AMA (advanced maternal age). Six of our babies were termed IUGR (intra-uterine growth restricted) so I have some personal experience with all the testing regarding that label. Thankfully, each baby was healthy and thriving at birth! I remember interviewing other couples with 3 children about what that was like for them before we decided to have more than two. Well we were younger and quite fearless so we decided to just go for it. But before our last four children were born I suffered 3 miscarriages and know the emotional pain and tears that come from journeying through that valley.
After the birth of our 8th I exhibited postpartum depression symptoms but with the Godly support of my husband, was treated naturally with supplements by a wonderful, Christian chiropractor and was literally back to myself within 3 days of treatment!
We have a rich life near the shores of Lake Michigan, where I take daily walks, look forward to Saturday morning Starbucks with my husband, am constantly reminded of my character flaws as I endeavor to home educate our remaining 5, have cabinets overflowing with healthy recipes to try, occasionally grind wheat berries to make fresh bread, and cheer a little too loudly at my son’s basketball games.
